Murphy Campbell

Murphy Campbell has deep roots. Western NC is a place her family settled hundreds of years ago. Born in the foothills and coming from a long lineage of mountain folk, she seeks to draw up a lost modal sound. Murphy has several ancestors who carried on the ballad and mountain music tradition, a tradition she now shares in her own performance and music.
