a high-energy Latin dance experience that brings people together through music,

movement, rhythm, and connection.

The session begins with a fun and welcoming introduction to basic Latin dance moves,

followed by a vibrant social dance where everyone is invited to stay, move, and

celebrate together.

Inspired by La Gozadera and Noches Latinas—community-rooted dance experiences

that have grown through collaboration, shared space, and a love for Latin heritage

and culture—this session reflects a spirit of inclusivity, joy, community, and connection.

Maria Gonzalez is the CEO of ClubFitness Greensboro and a passionate advocate for community, culture, and wellness. Originally from Colombia, Maria has proudly called Greensboro home for the past 24 years. She is the former board chair of the North Carolina Folk Festival and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Cone Health, as well as the boards of Casa Azul of Greensboro, Truist Community Advisory Board, The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro, and the Hirsch Wellness Network, among others. For the fourth year in a row, Maria has been invited to lead Latin Dance at the N.C. Folk Festival, bringing vibrant rhythms and joyful movement to the heart of downtown. She has also helped organize the GSO National and International Dance Day at LeBauer Park and led the Faces of Diversity: Greensboro Project. Maria is the force behind Noches Latinas at Lebauer Park with Casa Azul, a monthly First Friday celebration that brings hundreds of people together to dance, connect, and embrace the richness of Latin culture. Through her work, Maria continues to inspire unity and wellness through the power of music, movement, and community.
